CRITICAL THINKING AND RELIGIOUS MODERATION: Instilling Religiously Moderate Values through the Teaching of Islamic Philosophy in Indonesia

This study aims to prove that Islamic philosophy can present alternatives overcome intolerance, radica­lism, and extremism in Indonesia. suggests the teaching of country has succeeded changing student perspective mindset which tends be closed-minded, exclusive, extreme nature seeing differences religions, sects, beliefs open-minded, inclusive moderate. With rational, critical comprehensive teachings, students alumni from Theology Philosophy (ITP) programs have a more positive attitude understanding plurality diversity. Such change results curriculum design offers moderate values, critical-dialectical methods, direct experiences uses field research with qualitative technique applies purposive sampling snowballing decide subjects. To collect primary data, data collecting-instruments include in-depth interviews 28 resource persons comprising lecturers, 5 ITP Indonesia, observation literature.
